Mhyia: Happy 13th Birthday Shayla!!

Today is Shayla's 13th Birthday.

I seriously can't believe she is 13 already - Shayla is our first niece and is soooo special to me(us). I just enjoy everything about her and think she is such a beatiful, smart, caring and truly thoughtful person and she is so excited about Mhyia coming. In fact Shayla is one of the only people who consistenly ask us about Mhyia and how much longer it will be etc...

Anyways I just want to wish her a very Happy 13th Birthday and I hope that she has an amazing 1st day as a teenager!! We LOVE you sooo much Shayla xo

Apr 27/12 - Rec'd Mhyias Citizenship approval letter from the ON Ministry.
Apr 26/12 - Mike is heading back to Toronto to pick up our Visa's
Apr 25/12 - Rec'd our Letter of Seeking Confirmation back from the Ministry of Ontario - now off to China it goes!!
Apr 24/12 - Rec'd our China Itinerary!!
Apr 20/12 - Mike took Visa applications to the Chinese consulate in Toronto
Apr 18/12 - Filled out all Visa applications
Apr 17/12 - Tammy got Visa pics done
Apr 13/12 - Mike got Visa pics done
Apr 10/12 - Booked our flights to China
Apr 9/12 - Met with Dr. and went over all medical information
Apr 4/12 - Met with our Social Worker, reviewed and signed all leagl documents
Apr 3/12 - GOT OUR REFERRAL!!!
Mar 30/12 - Made Dr. appointment to go over referral and medical information of her file
Mar 30/12 - Made Social Worker appointment to review referral
Mar 29/12 - Our file has landed in Ottawa!
Mar 27/12 - found out our lid was included in this months batch and on its way from China
Nov 30/11 - Rec'd our letter from Citizenship Canada - everything is done and complete until we are in China!!
Nov 23/11 - Rec'd email with our Travel Guide/Referral Booklet - Group 272
Oct 16/11 - Went to Adopt talk refresher / Travel meeting
Oct 6/11 - Rec'd email from citizenship requiring notarized copies of the back of Michael's birth certificate
July 12/11 - Received confirmation form Citizenship Canada - will take approx 20wks from June 28/11
June 21/11 - Sent off the Citizenship paperwork for Mhyia
July 12/10 - Our Social worler Donna came over to re-do our homestudy AGAIN
July 12/10 - Tammy new Medical
July 5/10 - Mike new Medical
June /10 - went to have new Police checks done
May 20/10 - emailed our SW because it is time to renew our homestudy "again"
May 15/10 - went to a meeting in Mississauga about the new "admin" fee which they put up to $1200/year from $250. Both of which should not be charged at all :(
Had to update our homestudy and ministry approval, had to get new medicals and new police checks. We met with our new social worker Donna (love her)!!
Feb 28/08 Received our extension letter from the Ontario Ministry, extends our homestudy ministry approval to July 2008 - a full two years
Nov 17/07 Went to a Dee Paddock seminar on "Behavioral Issues in Adoptive Families"
Oct 28/07 Met with Melody & Mike members of our travel group 272
Sep't 27/07 Our file has officially made it through the CCAA review room
Aug 29/07 Our 1 year LID Anniversary
Dec 19/06 We received our Immigration package/forms
Sep't 8/06 Received our group list
Aug 4/06 Our file has been sent to China - group 272
Jul 20/06 Received our Ministry Approval!!
Jun ??/06 Sent our dossiere to Children's Bridge
Jun 2/06 Homestudy to Ministry
Jun 1/06 Jenna rec'd our homestudy package...finally!!
