China Day 8 - June 7th

So Mhyia did wake up last night at about 11:30pm just crying so we thought she might be hungry, we tried to feed her and she got even more upset?  Mike ended up just rocking her for about 10 min and she was out.  It was so strange, I don't know if she had a night terror or something although I think it was more
Iikely stomach pain from constipation or it could be teething?  Who knows lol.

We headed to the lobby for 9:30 to meet Norman our guide - he was taking us to Green Lake Park and also to a Temple in town.  We went to Green Lake Park first - it is sooooo beautiful there!  There are people everywhere, beautiful pathways, ladies dancing, people excercising etc.. I remember seeing this park on the Amazing Race Last year.  We walked through and were quite popular there!  Little kids would come running up to Mhyia and Declan constantly and people just come right up to you and stare at you!  Mike brings his translation card with him everywhere to explain that we adopted Mhyia and she is heading to Canada.  People kept telling Norman how beautiful Mhyia was and how the babies will now have a great life.  At one point we went past about 30 ladies dancing with fans in the park.  Once one of them saw us they all started coming over and before you knew it there were about 30+ people crowded around us talking and pointing etc..  Norman was explaining to them what was going on.

There were large Magnolia trees and huge ponds filled with Lotus flowers - some were just starting to bloom but they will all be blooming in a few weeks - that would be so beautiful to see.  I would say this park is my favorite thing we have done so far.  It was just so beautiful there and I absolutely love how there are people everywhere doing so many activities.

After Green Lake Park we headed to the Yuantong Temple, this temple is 1200 years old it was absolutely amazing, such beautiful intricate work.  Its current design was based on its last restoration under the Ming Dynasty.  Because of the construction inside was hard to get pictures of and believe me pictures do not do it justice!!  The small details and the painting is amazing.  We lit a candle and left it burning with all the others.  There were sooooo many turtles in the water and they all sit up on the edges in the sun!

After that Norman had our driver stop at Pizza Hut and we both got a pizza to go for lunch.  OMG I have never been so excited to eat pizza in all my life.  It has been hard here I am not going to lie, not eating, sleep is off, new baby, living out of a room and suitcase - it is still mind boggling to me how a couple of pieces of pizza made me feel sooooooo much better!!

For dinner we just stayed in and had our left over pizza, mike and I went for a quick walk downtown and got some water etc.. Mhyia was in bed and sleeping before 9pm.
