China Day 9 - June 8th

Today was a free day and our last day in Kunming.  I must admit there are some parts of Kunming that are soooo nice and there are many beautiful spots, Green Lake Park being one of them for sure!  I am not upset to be leaving this hotel and the city, it is the city that our daughter is from and for that I will always love Kunming but this last week has been hard.  The hotel, the food etc...has not been easy to adjust to.

Today after breakfast well decided to head downtown and find the Starbucks!!  We set out and it was only about a 15-20 min walk and we hit the downtown.  It is very nice downtown and soooo many very modern brand names stores.  We went to the Carrefour and looked around but there was nothing that really stood out.  As we went to leave a big thunderstorm rolled in and it was pouring like crazy!!  We hung out at the doors of the Carrefour, gave the kids a bottle and waited for it to pass.  The one good thing about the rain in Kunming is that it only seems to last 30 min or less and then there is sun!  We headed out to the Starbucks which Mike was VERY excited about!  After leaving there we headed back to the hotel again.  On the way back it started raining so we had to head indoors at this 7 floor shoe store!!  It was very cool.

After the rain we headed out, Mhyia fell asleep on the way back and slept until about 3:30  - so that was great!  When she got up we played for a bit and then all headed out to a restaurant called Mama Fou's. We have eaten there a couple of times and it has been great!  Tonight I actually ordered a bake macaroni and it was really good!

We all headed back to the hotel because the kids were getting fussy and ready for bed,  Mhyia went down just a little after 8pm and slept until 9am.

Mhyia is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! And it sounds like you had a wonderful time in Kumming (I'm quite tired so that may not be spelled correctly). I am loving the posts and we are all so happy for you.
Safe travels back to Beijing. We are looking forward to hearing more about your adventures.
p.s. Careful with those prunes... when Molly started going, she went and went and went. Then it all got normal.
