Purolator/Stork landing and our SW visit!!

The Purolator Guy/Stork came to my work today - the poor guy didn't realize what he was in for or certainly what he was delivering!!
When he got to the front Cathy called me so I could sign for the "package" and could snap a couple of pics! He was a good sport and once he left I literally couldn't wait to get that envelope open!! I knew most of what was in it already but it was still so special. It included all the original documents that were in Chinese and her original little pictures in an envelope! Loved it!!

That night our Social Worker came over and we reviewed her file etc... talked about all that was to come and things we should watch for etc.. It was a great visit and one that was a LONG time coming!! We signed our official Letter of Seeking document and everything else that was needed. We just have to go to the Doctor's on Easter Monday to have her look over her file and then our package will be on its way back to China!!

One step closer to bringing our little girl home!

2000 Days - February 19th, 2012

February 19th marks 2,000 days since our file was logged in a computer in China! I can't really even believe we have waited this long - if you had told me it would be this long when I started I probably would have never signed up.

Fast forward 2,000 days and I am glad we signed up, glad we have stuck it out, the timing seems to be great and we are sooooo happy we are almost done!!!

This is where our file has been sitting for the last 2,000 days!!

January referrals!

Well the CCAA have sent out referrals for January (before leaving for CNY) they have done upto and including August 15, 2006! It was kind of what I was expecting; it is equivalent to 28 RQ families which means it seems a little bit better than last month’s batch.

If they were to refer the same amount next month that would more than include us but I honestly do not see that happening. That would mean they would have to refer 14 days and even if they could I just don’t think they would. I am kind of thinking they will get to maybe Aug 22/23 next month and then finish out August the month after – which means a March referral for us. To be honest that is the way I am hoping it plays out LOL, or even April – I know after all this time that sounds awful but I feel like it has been so far a way for so long and now all of a sudden it is here and I’m not prepared – I am gearing up to be prepared for March so earlier would just throw me off LOL.

Also there is no one logged in between the 19th and the 27 (inclusive) so that is why the CCAA could easily do what would appear to be a larger batch.

So this also officially means that our group is NEXT at our agency!! Yahoo group 272 - although there is only one other couple left in our group which originally had 8 couples I believe? Only 14 month lid's to go!!!

Our Travel Guide/Referral Booklet

November 23rd we rec'd an email from Children's Bridge and it was titled "Travel Guide/Referral Booklet - Group 272" - AHHHHHH so exciting!!!! I know it is still months away but it was soooo exciting to see this email finally come through to us.

There is so much information and so much preparation that I think we need to do, I am actually feeling very overwhelmed by it all lately. I am hoping as soon a Christmas is done I can start focusing on getting organized. There is so much paper work and forms etc.. that we haven't really looked at since the beginning almost 6 years ago.

Just another exciting step on our LONG journey to Mhyia!

14 Days - in the September Batch

Well the last two months have been the wost batches EVER - in terms of RQ numbers they were 20 & 21 families (of course RQ families is only a fraction of the world total) but none the less brutally small months.

I got up on Wednesday morning and pulled up RQ as I do most mornings close to the end of the month and I saw July 28th!!! which was 14 days!!!! - in terms of RQ families it is 46 which is more in line with this year but it covered 14 days and I was soooooo excited!!

They are almost done July!! I can't believe that in approx 6-7 months (or possibly less?) we will be seeing our little baby girls face. It has been sooooo long and I still feel un-prepared and like its not real.

What this 14 day batch says to me is that they are not going to try to stretch out July to last until Dec (even if they skip a month) and that they (CCAA) will do a large number of days - both good news!!

ONLY 31 LID'S UNTIL US!!!!

Citizenship papers acknowledged

Earlier this June Mike sent off our paperwork to Citizenship Canada to start the process for Mhyia - we received a confirmation letter from them on July 12th stating that they received our application and that it would take approx 20 weeks to complete (from June 28th). Wow the government works quickly and efficiently...LOL

Another Step Closer to our baby girl!

About a month ago or so our agency sent us the links and information for the immigration paper work we need to fill out for Mhyia. To be honest I looked at it quickly but we decided that Mike would look after this part since he was familiar with a lot of this kind of stuff from work. Thank goodness - it all looks very confusing. We were taking our time getting to it but after last months huge batch it got us thinking we better get on it "just in case" apparently it can take up to 6 months to have this completed, depending on which route you go.

There is now two ways that you can bring your child back to Canada - "as a landed immigrant" or "as a Canadian citizen" at first we were going to go landed immigrant route because there could be some kind of issues with Mhyia's children's children not being Canadian citizens if she marries a non Canadian citizen and if the child is born outside of Canada (or something like that). The more we thought about it and read about it and looked at all the paper work etc... we decided that we would go the Canadian citizen route. Which means that she will travel to Canada with a Canadian passport and land in Canada as a Canadian citizen!!
Mike took care of doing all the paper work and having everything notarized at the lawyers, paying on line and making copies. It was so great!!

Today we sent it off to the Citizenship office - we now wait to hear back from them and then that is it until we return to Canada with her - then I believe we have to send in a "part 2" within a year. I am not sure exactly what that is for but I know that Daddy is on it LOL!!

Good job Daddy!!
